Pierside Gallery: Huntington Beach, CA

Image
The surf's up this summer and so are some of my photographs at Pierside Gallery in Huntington Beach, CA. If you visit Surf City this summer, check out Pierside Gallery on your way to the beach (300 Pacific Coast Hwy # 107A, Huntington Beach, CA).

Surf City Marathon

Image
(Pre-Race) Yesterday, I ran in the Surf City 1/2 marathon with my cousin and a few friends. I really enjoyed running in the event and seeing the enthusiasm of over 18,000 participants. (Run for Mobility Wheel Chair) Proceeds from the race benefited Run for Mobility , a nonprofit that donates wheel chairs constructed out of outdoor furniture and mountain bike wheels to the needy. The wheel chairs cost around $50 to construct and yesterday's event raised enough money to supply over 11,000 wheel chairs! Surf's up to that!

US Open of Surfing

Image
( Surf City (C) Tiner /Epic Arts LLC) This weekend, I was invited to display my artwork (July 24-27) at the world's largest surf contest, The US Open of Surfing . Last year, over 400,000 spectators visited Huntington Beach, CA for the event. I will exhibit my art and also sell prints. Additionally, I was asked to create a special surfboard for the event, which will be auctioned off for charity. I look forward to sharing images of the board soon.

A Unique Perspective

( Huntington Beach, CA , Abstract Photography (c) Tiner). A fun perspective of Huntington Beach, CA aka "Surf City." I originally captured this photograph in color and then juxtaposed the dramatic sunset with a B&W overlay.

A Visual Journey Through "Surf City"

"Surf City" aka Huntington Beach is one of my favorite locations in Southern California to photograph. The varying light and surf conditions create constant aesthetic nuisances to capture in this historic city. Enjoy.

Impossible is Nothing...

Image
(Huntington Beach, Aerial Photography (c) Tiner). On Friday afternoon I received a request to write a creative proposal for this year's US Open of Surfing. If I receive the bid, I will be responsible for creating the print advertisements, promotional material and backdrops for the event. Other agencies and artists are pitching for the job. It's been a busy weekend, but I feel confident and look forward to delivering my presentation tomorrow. Wish me luck!
