2010 Summer Art Festival - Booth Preview

Image
(Kona Sea Turtle (C) Tiner ) This summer, I will be exhibit in a ten week art festival , in Laguna Beach, CA. The show opens on June 25 and runs through August 29, 2010. Before the show commences, I had to construct a booth to exhibit my work. In order to maximize my space and challenge the traditional methods to display a photograph, I enlarged one of my photographs to 90-square-feet and attached it to the floor. Throughout the show, attendees will be able to walk on top of the photograph and experience a unique aesthetic perspective. As the Deep Horizon oil spill continually pollutes the Gulf of Mexico, I hope to remind visitors about the importance and fragility of nature. Below are pictures of my space before and during construction. (Before) (After)

(2010 Mark Tiner Memorial Scholarship Recipients @ Laguna Beach High School) Last night, I presented two $1,000 Mark Tiner Memorial Scholarships to graduating seniors from Laguna Beach High School. The scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate good character and pursue higher education. The funds are made available by community donations. It feels rewarding to continue my brother's memory and recognize students for their achievements.

Additionally, a website manager can add a "tag" to their Google Maps' listing. A Google Maps' tag can include a coupon promotion, link to a company website, or announcement about a new product or service. Adding a tag to a Google Maps' listing costs approximately $1.00 per day, which comparatively is inexpensive given the reach of global audience and diverse devices that can view the content. The example below illustrates the different listings that appear for "auto glass" near Houston, TX, one of four U.S. cities currently testing Google Maps' tags.
