Viva La Musica!

Image
(Coldplay, portrait by Tiner). Viva La Musica! Viva La Coldplay! With the music industry ailing in Web 2.0, Coldplay is the new harmonic elixir. The release of their latest CD, Viva La Vida , highlights the importance of integrating free content with new product distribution. The band strategically allowed fans to sample new songs on their website and then provided radio stations with the entire album. This all happened before the CD was released for purchase. What? Give away your product before the release date? This idea may even cause Ms. Jackson to have a wardrobe malfunction. However instead of being exposed, Coldplay sold over 300,000 Units on its release date and even surpassed Jack Johnson's record on Itunes for most songs downloaded in a single day. You mean people are willing to pay for content, after it is provided for free? I'm sorry, Ms. Jackson, but times have changed. Coldplay's distribution model highlights the importance of creating buzz via free content...

"Shake, Shake, Shake, Shake, just shake it!"

(Metro Station Band, Stylized Portrait by Tiner). Inspired by their hit song " Shake It ," I enjoyed creating this stylized portrait of Sony BMG MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT's Metro Station . I tried to convey their individual personalities and high energy level. Enjoy! ...Or should I say shake it? ....just shake it. ;)

Los Angeles Philharmonic

Image
(Enjoying the LA Phil (wearing one of my ties)) Special thanks to BC for the two complimentary orchestra tickets to the LA Philharmonic last night. My mother and I really enjoyed the evening and ambiance of Frank Gehry's building. I was really impressed by the acoustical range and diverse talent of the musicians. Thanks again.

Project Ethos

Image
On Friday, February 29, three friends and I were guests of Project Ethos, a fashion, art and music event that profiles creative individuals under the age of 26. The red carpet event was held at the Avalon in Hollywood, CA. I really enjoyed the diverse range of fashion products and unique artistic expressions. My friends and I each wore ties that I designed and created for the event (see tie picture below) . (picture of me with Aurora, Ethos coordinator holding a portrait I created of her for the event.)
