The 2009 Mark P. Tiner Education Foundation Board Meeting

Last week The Mark P. Tiner Education Board met to select a financial needs scholarship recipient. Over 70 graduating high school seniors from throughout Orange County, CA applied for the scholarship.

It's rewarding to continue my brother's memory forward and help a well deserving student pursue higher education.

The board will present the scholarship next month.

Exploring New Possibilities: AI-Generated Renderings Inspired by Traditional Sculpture

  The evolution of art has always been driven by creativity, innovation, and new tools. Recently, I experimented with using AI to generate various renderings inspired by Casey Parlette 's hermit crab sculpture. Casey’s work has always been about blending nature and imagination. So, using AI to expand on that creativity felt like a fitting tribute. With AI rendering tools, I was able to create different interpretations of his hermit crab sculpture, each with its own unique style and texture. Addressing Fire Hazards in Laguna Beach – Collaboration for Community Safety

As Laguna Beach continues to enhance its wildfire prevention and safety measures, it's essential to address the lingering fire hazards posed by remaining telephone poles. I recently organized a meeting with Laguna Beach’s City Manager , Dave Kiff, Mayor Alex Rounaghi, and Fire Chief King to discuss how our community can further mitigate these risks, especially in light of the devastating Palisades Fire. Laguna Beach is actively updating its comprehensive wildfire plan, prioritizing both prevention and evacuation readiness. This ongoing effort involves a proactive approach to identifying vulnerable areas, reducing fire hazards, and ensuring our community is prepared should disaster strike. I want to express my sincere appreciation to the City of Laguna Beach for its continued commitment to safety and its proactive approach to wildfire preparedness.
