Today, I was excited to surprise Los Alamitos High School and present The 2008 Mark P. Tiner Education Foundation OC Financial Needs Scholarship. I presented the $1,000 scholarship to a graduating high school senior who will be attending Cal Berkeley this Fall. I was thrilled to see the student's excitement, continue my brother's memory and help a deserving student pursue higher education.

Over 60 applicants were received for this year's financial needs scholarship, which is open to graduating high school seniors in Orange County, CA. The scholarship award is provided by support from community contributions and the recipient is selected by The Mark P. Tiner Education Foundation Board.

In addition to the award, I presented the student with a print of one of my stylized portraits. She said she will use it to decorate her dorm room next year.

I also wore one of my original ties and jackets.
